Main Window

The Main screen provides most of the functionality required to use PubAssist FTP.

Areas

The main window is divided into three major areas:
Area Features
Profile List The Profile List area provides access to the existing profiles for selection and maintenance.
  • View List: Toggle between Details and List mode. The default view can be set in the Options Dialog.
  • Delete Selected: Deletes the selected profile. Only one profile can be selected at a time.
  • Delete All: Deletes all profiles. For security, a message appears asking you to confirm.
Profile The Profile area allows you to create a new profile as well as maintain the selected profile.
  • Profile Name: The name of the new or selected profile.
  • Source Location: The location of the files transformed in oXygen. This is typically the same location as the Output directory in oXygen's Edit Scenario dialog.
    Note: The recommended location for oXygen output is:
    D:\Users\<user.name>\Vasont\out\${cfne}
    Click the Browse button to the immediate right of this field to browse for the desired folder.
  • FTP staging folder: The location the files will be stored within the InfoDev Staging server. Click the Browse button to the immediate right of this field to browse for the desired folder.
  • FTP production folder: The location the files will be stored within the InfoDev Production server. Click the Browse button to the immediate right of this field to browse for the desired folder.
  • Add Profile: Creates a new profile containing the information provided in the four fields. All fields must contain information to create a new profile.
  • Update Profile: Allows you to update the currently selected profile with the information provided in the four fields.
  • ...and backup: When selected, a browse dialog is displayed allowing you to backup the Profiles file (profiles_paf.xml) to a desired location. This is helpful to ensure your profiles will not have to be recreated. You can set the default to checked or unchecked in the Options Dialog.
Publish The Publish area provides features for publishing your selected profile content to one of the InfoDev servers.
  • Staging: Select this option to publish to the staging server. The content will be published to the location displayed in the profile's FTP staging folder.
  • Production: Select this option to publish to the production server. The content will be published to the location displayed in the profile's FTP production folder.
  • Publish: Click this button to begin the publishing process.
  • Staing to Prod: Click this button to begin the process of copying files from the Profile's staging folder to its production folder.

Menus

The menu bar provides several menu commands to help you in a variety of features.

  • Exit: Closes the application.
Tools
  • View Archives: This feature is currently under development.
  • Profiles
    • View Profiles XML file: Displays the Profiles file (profiles_paf.xml) in the sapplication registered to view XML files.
    • Backup...: Allows you to backup the Profiles file (profiles_paf.xml) to any location on the Vasont server that is available to your user account. A recommended location for baking up your profiles is the My Documents folder under your user account.
    • Restore...: Allows you to restore a previous backup.
  • Error Log: Displays a window containing a log of all errors encountered by PubAssist FTP.
  • Publishing Database Browser: currently under construction
  • Options: Displays the Options Dialog.
Help
  • Online Help: Provides access to the online Help (what you are currently viewing).
  • Feedback: Provides access to the Application Feedback page. Feel free to use this feature to communicate your comments on features you'd like to see, any defects or errors, or comments in general.
  • How to modify the Hosts file: This is used only for a local installation. (Available only with a local installation).
  • About/Release Notes: Displays the About/Release Notes dialog providing application information and a changlelog of version release details.
